Needles |
| The size, quantity, and sometimes color of knitting needles can be detrimental
to the successful design of any knit garment. Generally, it is recommended
to utilize needles that have the same diameter as the thread employed.
If needles are substantially larger in diameter than the thread, then
a person might have trouble creating loops when knitting. The quantity
of needles is a matter of personal preference. Some people like to
knit with just two needles. When a person is deciding on the number
of needles to employ, it is important to consider the length of the
needles. The longer the needles the more loops one can create on them
while knitting. Finally, it is a good practice to have knitting needles
of the color opposite to the knitting thread for the sake of effortlessness
in creating loops. For example, if the color of the thread is black,
a person can use either white, silver, or yellow knitting needles for
contrast. |
